In the era of smartphones, its relevance may well be largely consigned to history but the red telephone box has been voted the greatest British design of all time.
The phone box – once seen on streets up and down the land – topped a poll that included famous creations such as the Spitfire, the London Underground map and Concorde.
Close behind was the Routemaster double-decker bus and the Union flag.
Design expert Professor Catherine McDermott, director of curating contemporary design at Kingston University in London, led a panel of judges to create a longlist of great British designs, which was then put to a poll of 2,000 adults to find the 25 favourites.
The top 25 greatest British designs were voted as:
1 – Red Phone Box K Series 중 kiosk 2 가 최고 인기 디자인이었다.
2 – Routemaster double-decker bus 런던 2층 버스
런던 2층 버스 가장 초기 모델을 아직도 이렇게 운영하는 노선이 두개있다.
2015년 1월 런던 타워 브리지에서 탑승한 초기 모델 2층버스는 외부와 내부 그대로다
문도 달리지않은 ^^ ( 혹자는 달리는 버스에 문이 안달렸다고 말도 안된다고 할지도 모르겠다)
그리고 다른 현대적인 런던 시내 버스에서는 하고있지 않는 버스 표 검사& 승무원이 옛 방식 그대로 근무한다. 복원한다는 개념자체가 아니라 그대로 똑같이 사용한다는 점이 놀랍다)
